A Great Way to Use Stimulants - Masquing In the Shower

A Great Way to Use Stimulants - Masquing In the Shower

A great way you can elevate your skincare routine is by adding in a stimulating face masque. Stimulants increase circulation by bringing blood flow and oxygen to the surface of your skin. This technique helps detoxify and flush dull looking skin and can even help treat acne and breakouts by creating more blood flow and oxygen to the congested area.

One of the easiest ways to incorporate a stimulating face masque is by using it in the shower. The hot steam from the shower mixed with the stimulating ingredients such as nettle, cinnamon and or paprika will help move stagnant blood quickly and have you feeling rosy and pink in no time for a glow that lasts you all day.

Let me break it down for you how face massing in the shower might look...

Step 1: Cleanse

Even though it's more than likely morning time when you'll be hopping in the shower, it's still necessary to do a quick face wash to remove your nighttime skincare products and any dirt, sweat and oil that may have accumulated through the night. This will also prep your skin for a more effective face masque treatment.

Step 2: Pat Skin Dry

Since you're in the shower, your skin will be super wet after washing and rinsing your face. I recommend having a clean hand towel ready to pat skin dry before applying your stimulating face masque or treatment for better absorption and better product control.

Step 3: Apply

Work the stimulating face masque into freshly cleansed and dried skin. Let sit and continue with the rest of your shower business.

Step 4: Shower

While your face masque does it's job AKA magic, continue with the rest of your shower routine such as hair wash, shave legs, body scrub, etc. As you let the stimulating treatment sit, you'll feel your skin start to tingle and heat up. This is good! That means your circulation is increasing.

Step 5: Rinse

After you're done with all of your shower business and you're ready to get out, do a quick rinse with water to remove your stimulating treatment (a Pamper Puff, Magic Mitt or wash cloth also works). No need to use a facial cleanser to remove a face masque or treatment, water is all you need 👌.

Results

Your skin will more than likely be rosy and pink with a definite line of demarcation (a visible line on your skin where your stimulating treatment stops). Any redness will come down within 30 minutes to an hour leaving your skin looking glow, soft and smooth. Continue with the rest of your skincare routine post in-shower masque treatment.

Make sure you're careful about sun protection anytime you use a stimulating skincare product as skin will be more prone to sunburn.

My favorite stimulating face masques:

Hungarian Herbal Mud Treatment

Clarifying & Detoxifying: Excellent for oily and acne prone skin

Lime Stimulating Treatment

All skin types, especially problem skin, hormonal skin and aging skin

Eight Greens Phyto Masque HOT

Firming, Lifting & Hydration: Hormonal Skin

Turmeric Energizing Treatment

I highly recommend trying a stimulating face masque or treatment in the shower to elevate your skincare routine and get your skin glowing fast! Let me know if you try it and like it or not and as always, leave any questions for me in the comments.

This is great! I’ve used the Lime in the shower and WOW it was spicy (in the best way). What is the difference though, if any, between a “stimulant” and an enzyme?
